We are excited to announce the Northern Midlands Solar Farm Project has been awarded the Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) – Project Management Achievement Award (PMAA) in the ‘Regional Project’ award category.
The project, located on Connorville Station near Cressy, Tasmania, will export up to 288MW of power – equivalent to the energy needs of approx. 70,000 Tasmanian homes. It is hoped that the project becomes a model for future solar farm projects in the state, creates local job opportunities and stimulates economic growth.
Robert Luxmoore manages the Project team on behalf of Connorville. The team ensured the project navigated a complex technical and regulatory framework, including compliance with environmental regulations and permitting processes requiring coordination with authorities (e.g. EPA, EPBC, local council, ReCFIT, TasFire, Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania), landowners, and community stakeholders.
In this context, obtaining Development Application approval in December 2023, in only 8 months is a testament to the precise execution of planning and engagement activities by the Project team including Cogency and other specialist consultants.
This recognition is a result of the hard work of the Project team, led by Emanuele Raffaele and Simon Reed and Robert Luxmoore’s commitment to assisting landowners in unlocking renewable energy opportunities.
